Rand Water is seeking a candidate to assist with electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs across its distribution network. The role involves supporting day-to-day maintenance of electrical equipment, handling new installations, and addressing breakdowns at pump stations and within the Electrical Department. Applicants must have a Grade 12 or equivalent qualification, or an N2 Electrical certificate, with at least 2 years of experience in an electrical environment. Alternatively, candidates with an Abet Level 4 and 5 years of experience in a similar setting will be considered. A valid driver’s license and the ability to perform standby duties are required. Key responsibilities include assisting with planned maintenance and repairs of electrical plants and equipment, conducting routine inspections, and supporting electrical installations. Candidates should have basic knowledge of electrical principles and safety, with the ability to repair lights, plugs, stoves, geysers, and electrical appliances, as well as submersible pumps. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and customer service orientation are important attributes for the role.
